Bsnl launched new D1 4G feature phone at Rs 499 only

BSNL has come together with feature phone manufacturer Detel Mobile to D1 feature phone at just Rs 499, which will come bundled with BSNL SIM connection with a validity of the first recharge lasting to 365 days. Under the plan, customer will get talk time of Rs 103 with BSNL to BSNL calls at 0.15 per minute and BSNL to other network calls at 0.40 per minute along with a personal ring back tone for 28 days.

Detel Mobile's single SIM feature phone comes with 1.44 inch monochrome display and 650 mAh battery. The Detel feature phone also comes with features like torch light, phonebook, FM radio, speaker, and vibration mode.

"Such phones are preferred by a large population either due to its price or its inherent simplicity. This initiative further propels our ideology to bring communication services in the most cost-effective manner,” Yogesh Bhatia, MD, S. G. Corporate Mobility (parent company of Detel) said.

BSNL has more than 100 million mobile customers, 10 million broadband customers, 16 million landline customers. It also provides various enterprise services like lease line, VSAT and various managed services.

"With this partnership, we aim to tap the untapped section who still feels that owning a phone is a luxury,” said spokesperson from BSNL Board, commenting on the partnership.

Recently, home bred mobile phone manufacturer Micromax introduced its 4G VoLTE enabled featurephone Bharat 1 at Rs 2,200 bundled with BSNL offers which gave users access to unlimited calls and data at Rs 97 a month.
