BSNL offering benefits such as unlimited data to its prepaid customers in special packs under a promotional offer. At Rs 186, Rs 187 and Rs 485, state-run telecom company BSNL is offering unlimited data with speed reduced to 40 kbps after the usage of 1 GB, for a validity period ranging from 28 days to 180 days, according to its website - bsnl.co.in. BSNL has introduced an STV or special tariff voucher priced at Rs 187 (inclusive of GST), it noted. It has also introduced plan vouchers at Rs 186 and Rs 485.

BSNL Rs 186 pack

BSNL's Rs 186 plan voucher comes with a validity period of 180 days, according to the company's website. Benefits offered under this pack include unlimited voice calls in home LSA (licensee service area) for the validity period. BSNL also offers unlimited data with speed reduced to 40 kbps after 1 GB under the Rs 186 pack, according to its website. Voice calls include local and STD on-net - calls made on BSNL network - as well as off-net - calls made to other operators - BSNL mentioned.

BSNL Rs 187 pack

BSNL's special tariff voucher or STV at Rs 187 for its prepaid customers comes with a validity period of 28 days, according to its website. Benefits include unlimited local and STD voice calls - on-net and off-net - for the validity period. The Rs 186 pack also includes calls made in home licensee service area and in national roaming area (excluding Mumbai and Delhi), according to BSNL. Among other benefits, the pack comes with unlimited data for the validity period with speed reduced to 40 kbps after 1 GB.

BSNL Rs. 485 plan

Under its plan voucher priced at Rs 485, BSNL offers a validity period of 180 days, according to its website. The Rs 485 plan includes unlimited local and STD on-net/off-net voice calls for the validity period, among other benefits. These calls include those made in the home licensee service area and on national roaming (excluding Mumbai and Delhi), BSNL noted. The pack also offers unlimited data with speed reduced to 40 kbps after 1 GB/day for 84 days, it added.


The effective date of implementation may be vary from circle to circle. "Thus the same may be confirmed from respective circle offices", BSNL mentioned. "PV (plan voucher) 186/485 will be available for J&K, Assam and NE-I/II also but with 90 days PV validity only," BSNL said.

Dominated by Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone India, the telecom market in the country is witnessing high competition especially in terms of mobile data tariffs.
Telecom subscriber base in the country dipped marginally to 120.1 crore as the telecom companies lost over 1.75 crore customers in October, data from telecom regulator TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) showed. The impact was, however, mitigated to some extent with leading telecom players Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular and BSNL jointly adding over 1.26 crore new mobile customers during the month, according to TRAI.
