"With Bharat series, Micromax is helping the Indian consumers be digitally connected and make the experience more affordable and accessible. The device is pivotal tier 3 and 4 cities that face severe power outage issues," said Shubhodip Pal, Chief Marketing and Chief Commercial Officer, Micromax Informatics.
The device, available at offline retail stores in India, has 5.2-inch HD IPS display, Android Nougat operating system, 1.3 GHz Quadcore processor, 1GB RAM and 16GB onboard memory that can be expanded up to 64GB.Micromax has also partnered with Vodafone to provide its Bharat 5 consumers with 50GB of free data.

Specification of "Bharat-5"
- Processor: The Bharat 5 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor
- RAM: It will be available with 1GB of RAM, similar to the Bharat 4
- Internal storage: It comes in a single storage option of 16GB
- Screen: The Bharat 5 sports a 5.2-inch HD (720x1280) display with bezels all around

- Micromax says that its Bharat-series aims to provide affordable phones to help feature phone users jump to smartphones. The Bharat 5 is its most premium budget phone yet, and the company will compete against the Redmi 5A for the entry-level segment.
- Micromax is also offering benefits for Vodafone customers who purchase th Bharat 5. Users will get 10GB or additional data on whichever plan they're on for a period of 5 months.
- The company has sold 3 million Bharat phones so far and plans to sell around 6 million by March-end with the help of the Bharat 5.
Vodafone offers for 'Bharat-5'
Micromax has partnered with Vodafone to provide its Bharat 5 consumers with 50GB of free data. Under this offer, users will get 10GB data per month for five months.To avail this special offer, customers have to simply do a recharge of at least Rs 150 per month for 36 months (the recharges can be of any denomination totaling to a minimum of Rs 150 per month).At the end of 18 months, users will receive a cash back of Rs 900 and after another 18 months, a cash back of Rs. 1,300 respectively, thus availing a total cashback of Rs 2200.The cash back will be credited to their Vodafone M-Pesa wallets.
