Airtel Wednesday launched Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services in Gujarat. Airtel VoLTE, which works over 4G, will offer customers HD quality voice calls along with faster call set up time in Gujarat.
Sunil Mittal-driven company said that its VoLTE would be available on select 4G/LTE enabled mobile devices, which must have Airtel 4G SIM.The company is significantly spending on 4G technology and fibre-based network, and has minimised roll out of 3G and 2Ginfrastructure in the country, a top executive recently said. In case of non-availability of 4G, Airtel VoLTE calls would automatically fall back on 3G/2G network, according to the telco, ensuring that customers would continue to stay connected at all times.
